Vileda Windomatic – a review

Condensation sucks and at his time of the year our house is rife with it. Every morning we wake up and our windows are covered in it. We’ve been opening the windows just a tiny bit in each bedroom which does dry it out but we still have little puddles on the windowsills and having the windows open for half the day isn’t great for our heating bill!

The other half was telling me about a product that our friend had which sucks up the water like a hoover and before I could even get around to researching, I was offered the chance to review the Vileda Windomatic – perfect timing!

The Vileda Windomatic is a cordless window vacuum cleaner. It features a rechargeable battery (mains charger included in box), and ergonomic grip for easy handling and can wipe up to 60 square metres on one full charge.

The product comes in two parts, the suction head and the main unit. The head clips onto the base in seconds and you are ready to go (after a 6 hour initial charge). There is a big button in the middle which is the on/off button. When pressed, the suction begins and it sounds just like a hoover.

The suction power goes across the entire blade which is great as it means that you can get into the edges of the windows. The head is also flexible which makes it even easier to get into the cracks.

With the windows, I simply popped the head at the top of the window, pressed the on button and moved it slowly down to the bottom. As if by magic, the water disappeared! I did the whole window and it was clear, leaving no streaks (other than from a bit of dirt that was already on them!).

I then took to the upstairs windowsills as the windows were clear but the puddles were still there. The Windomatic got rid of it all with no bother.

Finally I did a trial for you! A tester so I could show you properly just how good it is. I ‘spilled’ a bit of water on the floor and hoovered it up! Great if like me you have young kids who like to knock water flying or make a mess ‘helping’ to wash up!

The no drips container holds up to 100ml of water before it needs to be emptied. It’s really easy to take the container out for emptying and it can be washed in the dishwasher which is great!

The Vileda Windomatic can be used for condensation, spillages and cleaning windows! It works brilliantly and is a wonderful addition to our cleaning cupboard! It’s a 5 star product for us. My only issue is that our charger for it seems to be faulty but this isn’t a reflection on the product which works brilliantly. We just need a replacement charger!

We were very kindly sent the Vileda Windomatic for the purpose of this review but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
