Getting ready for #TheChristmasClean with Regina Blitz [AD]

This post was developed in collaboration with Regina.

Christmas is coming – there is no denying it now! December is flying by, your TV’s are full of the annual Christmas Ads (I’m feeling slightly let down by them all this year), and your cupboards are slowly being filled with hidden presents – unless you are one of those super organised people who already have them all bought, wrapped and ready to go! I’ll confess at this point, that I still have quite a bit to buy. I really need to crack on!

Among all the lists that come at this time of year, one of them has to be #TheChristmasClean right? Because people will be visiting. Even if it’s not on Christmas Day, you can guarantee people will be over to drop off presents, eat mince pies, or share a merry glass of fizz with you. And you are going to want your house to be looking good, right?

Regina recently commissioned a survey of British Families to uncover #TheStressOfMess, and the impact it has on enjoying family moments at Christmas. And can you believe that 63% of UK residents admit that they miss out on family time in the lead up to Christmas because they begin to tidy the house at least a week before the big day? I don’t know about you, but if I spend a morning blitzing the house before we have guests over, within five minutes of it being clean, it’s generally been trashed again. Surely anyone with children knows that kids bring mess and therefore a week long cleaning frenzy is just not worth it. Especially if it means you are missing out on fun things with them. I always feel guilty on those Saturday mornings when the boys are sat in front of the tablet and iPad whilst the other half and I are sprucing the house up, so I would hate for that to be the same over Christmas as well. And that’s why Regina products help you make more of the moments that matter this Christmas – mess free.

Because Christmas is about family time isn’t it? It’s about making the most of every moment of having everyone together. Whether it’s the days that you have the other half at home, the days that you have the in law’s round, or the days where you spend from morning to evening in your PJ’s. It really isn’t about how clean your house is. Of course you don’t want it to be messy, you don’t want it to be dirty – but since 52% of UK residents agreed with me that the house is a complete mess within an hour or less of guests arriving on Christmas Day, you can guarantee that you’ll be looking around and wondering why you even bothered in the first place.

What will it be? Dropped food? Spilt milk? The results of too much chocolate?! With the leading innovation and quality from Regina kitchen roll – you can be reassured that no matter what the mess is, Regina will take care of it. With Regina, you always get more.

I wrote a post recently that is full of top tips on things you can do to keep the house tidy and ticking over on a daily basis, so that the cleaning doesn’t become overwhelming and something that is going to take hours of work to put right. And I am going to be making sure that I am taking heed to my own advice and keeping it as neat and tidy as I can manage with two young boys, so that when Zach breaks up from school, my main focus can be on him, Oscar, and us all enjoying ourselves. Especially as we will have Daddy home too – because with his new job being an hour and half commute each day, we don’t really see a huge amount of him during the week. So having him home for a solid length of time is going to be awesome, and I don’t want to have to worry about having to do a big clean of the house.

Of course, my regular cleaning at home comes with a little help from my favourite cleaning products, and when it comes to spills on the floor (which happens a lot), wiping up the spilled over food from the dining table, or wiping round the windows when they are damp and dirty – well that’s when I turn to Regina Blitz.

It’s an all-purpose household and kitchen towel that is perfect for cleaning any part of the home. It has triple layer sheets with super-strong unique emboss and they are almost 70% bigger than standard kitchen roll (they are actually huuuuuuge). They are also specially designed to be used both inside and outside the home by being strong, absorbent and reliable. Regina Blitz really do help you make more of the moments that matter, by making cleaning easy, AND it is available to buy from all leading supermarkets as well as independent retailers, priced from £2.50 (RRP). So it’s easy to get your hands on too!

We are hosting Christmas this year. We have the in-law’s coming over and are awaiting confirmation of whether we have the other half’s brother and crew over too. Whatever the case, the house will be clean, it will be tidy – but I am not going to obsess about it. I am very much a take me as you find me kind of girl and if the boys in my house have happy, smiley faces – well, that’s all that matters!

This is the kitchen towel that I always use too. So many other brands seem to disintegrate, this one actually does the job.

I’ve never actually heard of this brand until today but I am excited to add it to my next shopping basket because kitchen roll IS a huge cleaning staple in this house-not just for me, but hubby took, who uses it to clean his bike. He’s always moaning that the stuff I buy is too thin so can’t wait to give this a go!

Oh yes, we have loads to do to clean up ahead of Christmas – think we need to allow more than a week for the mess in our house though!

Our house is a tip right now! And the in-laws are coming at the weekend…. eek!

Who tidies the house more than a week before guests come?! I am usually hiding things under sofas and wiping up spills just as people knock at the door!
