Every week I feature an interview with a blogger, so that whether you know of them or not, you can get to know them a little better! This week we meet Cheryl from Mummy Of 5 Miracles. Thanks so much for taking part Cheryl 🙂
Tell me a little bit about yourself and your family
My name is Cheryl but I’m known to everyone as Chez. I’m 36 and live in Telford, Shropshire. I live with my 5 children Harry (14) Ellie-Jayne (13) Annabelle (9) Freddie (4) and Elizabeth-Ann (2). I am the youngest of 4 children with 2 older brothers and an older sister. I have recently split from my partner of 6 years so I am now a single parent.
What do you like doing to be you, when you are not parenting, working (if you do), or blogging?
I enjoy socialising with my friends, singing ( I’m not Whitney Houston but I can kind of hold a tune), reading books that restore my faith in a happy ever after, and watching Christmas films
What is your biggest achievement to date?
Becoming a mum after being told that I would never ever have children
From your own experiences, what do you find the hardest part of parenting and what is the easiest/most rewarding part?
For me the hardest part of parenting is watching your child go through something tough and being powerless to help them. We can all be a listening ear or a comforting hug but despite trying our best, we can’t take all the pains away. When my mum passed away recently it was very hard to watch my children grieving and not being able to take the heartache away.
The most rewarding part is when they randomly wrap their arms around my neck and tell me how much they love me.
Parenting in itself is no mean feat; how do you juggle everything you need to in order to get everything done on a daily basis?
In all honesty my older 2 children are a massive help. They help me with everything from cooking and cleaning to keeping the smaller ones entertained. I’m not so sure I would cope without their help.
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I was going through a really bad series of bad luck. I wrote a Facebook status saying you really couldn’t write this stuff, then sat and thought about it and thought actually I can – and that was the start of Mummy of 5 Miracles
Tell me a bit about your blog?
My blog is a bit of everything. I talk about daily life, the children’s achievements, mental health, reviews, days out and general parenting.
What do you want your blog to achieve and where do you hope to see it go as it grows?
I would love to see my blog becoming one of the go to sites that parents go to when they’re feeling a little overwhelmed and just want to know they’re not alone.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about starting a blog?
Think carefully about it, not everything is being given free things and fun and games. What you don’t see behind all of that is the hours and hours of hard work and writing involved. It took me over a year to start getting people wanting to work with me and that was after hours of working my bum off and lots of networking
If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive), who would it be and why
1) Gary Lucy – he is just beautiful. He was my kiddy crush and I would just love to know what he was like in real life when not playing a character.
2 & 3) Holly and Phil – because I just think it would be hilarious. They have a similar sense of humour as me and I think we’d have great fun
Tell me three random facts about you
1) When I was younger I was a Funstar, working in holiday parks entertaining all of the guests
2) I was on the beginning of Emmerdale every Thursday for a while in the Tombola adverts
3) I am an old romantic at heart and still believe in a happily ever after
