#Blogtober day 10 – Jokes

OK, so this has been a tricky one to come up with something to write about! Day 10 of #Blogtober17 is jokes. I'm not a natural joke teller myself so I can't give you a rundown of my best ones and the only one that Zach ever remembers is one from Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. Oh ok, I'll tell you it…

What flies in the sky and wobbles?

A Jellycopter!

Yeah, I know – hilarious, but we have heard it so many times! Bless his heart.

Zach has always been a funny boy. Always going out of his way to make us laugh since he was a baby. I confess that these days there is less purposeful humour and a lot more sarcasm, wit and attitude. But when he does make us laugh, he really makes us laugh. I have always said that he is going to be a comedian.

I sense that he gets his sense of humour from my Grandad. Not to say that we aren't funny ourselves (we aren't haha!), but my Grandad was a funny, funny man.

He always had jokes up his sleeve and quite often, when he and my nan were at our house, at the end of dinner whilst mum and dad were busy tidying up, he would sit telling my Sister and I jokes. And some of them were a tad innapropriate and he would always get in trouble.

My Sister and I loved it though. Any joke from him was brilliant – it was the way he told them, often laughing hysterically himself. I still remember that laugh so well, it was such a naughty laugh, it had this chuckle at the end of it that just lit up his entire face.

My Grandad has been gone for 13 years now and he is always so sorely missed around the dinner table, particularly at Christmas. He was always the one who brought the fun to the table – who would play all the time with my Sister and I, would show us tricks that he knew off by heart, and just generally be most happy when he was messing about!

He was like a big kid in an old man and he will always hold a very special place in my heart.

My hubby is the jokester in this house, and my eldest is following in his footsteps. Lovely memories you have of your grandad x

It’s lovely when you see that humour in your own children isn’t it?!
