When was the last time you cried?
Oh, I was fighting back the tears watching The Walking Dead last week. I won’t put any spoilers up but let’s just say it was a very emotional episode. Before that though (and through real life rather than a tv programme, I think I shed a few tears a few weeks ago when I had a particularly bad Tuesday night bedtime with the boys (it’s the one night a week I have to do it all myself!).
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I think I would, yes. Does that make me a bit up myself? I like to think that I am a caring and warm person and even though life often gets in the way of me seeing the people I love the most (outside of my immediate inner family!), I would be there for them at the drop of a hat if they needed me. And that’s why I would want to be my friend 🙂
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
No, I don’t think I do to be honest. I mean I do sometimes, but not that it’s noticeable. Of course, other people may say otherwise!
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
I always notice people’s hair first. I think it’s because I often find myself with hair envy and so it’s the first place that I look!
Scary movie or happy endings?
Oh, it always used to be scary movies, but I have mellowed in my old age and definitely prefer a happy ending nowadays!
I love the smell of freshly cut grass, freshly baked bread and cakes in the oven 🙂
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
America. I have visited Florida (twice), San Francisco (twice) and California. I love America and every time I go there I find myself wanting to live there. It’s dreamy, the weather is (mostly) gorgeous and everyone tends to be super friendly!
Do you have any special talents?
Oh this question always throws me! I feel like I don’t have any special talents so I need to find one!
Where were you born?
I was born at Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, which is also where I had Zach (but not Oscar as we had moved by the time we had him).
What are your hobbies?
Well I would probably say that blogging is my hobby. I am very fortunate that my hobby is now currently my job, but I would still very much call it my hobby too. I do also love reading but I never have time for that!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was really little I wanted to be a teacher. I used to stand in the garden in the summer with my chalkboard teaching all of my teddies! Then when I was at school I wanted to be a nursery nurse – until I did my work experience and it put me off forever. I ended up doing a media degree and ending up in event management!
How many countries have you been to?
Oh, that’s a tough one. Hang on…7 I think. America, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and France.
What was your favourite/worst subject in school?
My favourites were English and Child Development. I have always loved babies and children, and always been a very maternal and mumsy person, so learning all about them was always interesting to me.
What is your favourite drink?
Hot chocolate. There is no doubt about it and most people who know me, know that I am a hot chocolate-aholic!
What would you (or have you) named your children?
We found naming our children really hard. Our eldest is called Zachary and that came about after a night out in the pub with our friends who were discussing names when I was pregnant. Someone suggested Zach and both of us instantly loved it. The other half would have called him Zachariah if he’d had his way but we agreed on Zachary.
With Oscar, we were completely stuck. We both loved the name Ethan and that was originally what he was going to be. Then I read a book where the characters were called Zachary and Oscar and I loved how the two names sounded together. The other half still preferred Ethan, but I had gone off of it as I knew so many people who had children with that name. It took much convincing and it was just after I gave birth that I looked at him and said, he’s an Oscar. And he was and still very much is. His name totally suits him and I am super glad that the other half let me make that final decision. He did basically say that since I had just pushed him out into the world, he would allow me to name him!
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I don’t find myself having much time for watching YouTube – mainly because if I actually start playing something with sound on my phone, the boys tend to want to watch too and then they start pressing things or trying to grab it so I can’t watch! But, if I do watch anything, it is generally Brummy Mummy of Two because she is hilarious and Mrs Meldrum too. I love the way they are both so natural on camera and I would like to be their friends!
How many boyfriends have you had?
Oh, you keep making me count. Ok, I counted 8 – I don’t think I forgot anyone although I didn’t include those silly two week ‘relationships’ in school hehe!
Favourite memory from childhood?
Christmas. Always Christmas. With everyone being there. My Nan and Grandad. Mum, Dad and my Sister. Oh and the dog. Those Christmasses were fantastic and I miss them so much. It’s funny because I was only thinking about them the other day, remembering them with fondness. We no longer have Dad, Nan or Grandad so we miss them lots!
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Lazy! Jeggings, jumper and boots – you have to be comfy on the school run right!?! Although we did just go on a bit of a shopping spree though so I do have some new colourful bits added to my wardrobe!
Tell us one of your bad habits!
Socks. My other half is always moaning at me about my socks in random places habit. He finds them everywhere and it’s actually become a bit of a running joke now!
That’s it – questions all answered 🙂 Now you know a little bit more about 🙂
