Part two of my brand new series, where I pick a bunch of the books that the boys have been reading over the past few weeks. Some might be ones that we pick up from the library, some might have been in our collection for a while, and some may have recently been bought for us. This month there has been a real mixture – although as always with Oscar, there is a big focus on anything dinosaur related!
Here is what my boys have been reading in December.
I love a good story about socks and the boys really enjoyed this one! We meet Simon in this one – the only sock that doesn’t have his pair. Will he find it in the end? Well I won’t give that away!
An accident prone T-Rex who has a series of mishaps when he loses his specs. A rhyming book with all the dinosaur appeal – although they may meet a bit of a grizzly end!
This book has been our house since Zach was little and Oscar has just discovered it. The story of three little owls who are wondering where their Mummy has gone. But of course, she has just gone off to find some food for them!
Again, this has been a feature of the boys’ bookshelves for a fair while now, although now Oscar has a real love of dinosaurs, it has made it’s way out and is read at least every other night! Zach loves it too, as do we. An all round treat for everyone and holds a bit of a lesson for the kids to not to tell porky pies!
This was given to Oscar for Christmas and has gone down an absolute treat with both the boys. They both love lift the flap books and this has so many, it can take a while to get through it! Follow Kitten on his way through the book, not being scared of anything – until the last page of course!
We were given this book a while ago at a children’s centre toddler group that we went to a lot (and would still go to if they hadn’t cancelled it!), and it is one of my most favourite books to read to them – and Oscar is obsessed with it at the moment. We pretty much read it every night, he knows most of the words and we have fun acting out the story together. It is a real winner and an absolutely lovely story.
These are the six books that have been read the most throughout December. Have you read any of these? What’s your little one’s current favourite?
