One of my biggest weaknesses is stationery. I still to this day, remember the pure enjoyment of going back to school when I got to buy all the new bits I needed for class!
Over the years, my love of stationery has never gone away and I am a sucker for notepads and diaries in particular. I mean, I have more notepads than I need and this year on my Christmas list there is a planner AND a diary requested! And a Calendar too. I always hope that by having all of these things, I will be more organised than I actually am.
When I was asked if I would like to work with Pen Heaven on a review, I immediately went to check out their website and my response to them was basically, yes, yes yes please!
Pen Heaven are your go to shop for luxury stationery. From luxury journals, diaries and fountain pens – they have everything you could ever wish for and more.
I spent an age scrolling through all of the beautiful things to try and decide what to pick and in the end I opted for the Ohto Giza blue leather rollerball pen & Amalfi large leather journal. I loved the colour of it and thought it just looked like a gorgeous little set for myself.
When it turned up, not only was it in the most gorgeous gift wrapping, it also had a really lovely little card attached to it, telling me to enjoy creating within. I’m not going to lie, it’s the little things like this that make my days happy ones! That little extra thought to send a little note too.
Then I opened it up and I literally oooed and ahhhed over my findings. I mean, it’s just absolutely gorgeous. It is the softest of leather – I stroked it a lot. And I absolutely adore the way it does up with the wraparound tie. When I open and close it, I feel like I am in another era. It is the most wonderful of feelings. And of course, I took full advantage of the fact that you can have it embossed and chose to have Mummascribbles on the front!
The inside is just as beautiful – with cream-coloured pages and thick, high quality paper that withstands ink bleeding. It is divine.
And to know that it was handmade in a workshop in Italy makes it even more special. When the other half came home and had a peep at it, he immediately smelled it and was like, “ohhhhh”.
“Yes”, I said, “it’s real leather” 🙂
The pen is equally lovely. I am quite fussy with pens – they have to feel comfortable when I am using them. I don’t have the best handwriting in the world but a good pen can really help that issue. This is a rollerball and feels super comfy in my hand and really easy to write with. It just flows over the paper and is now my main pen. I am a terror for misplacing pens but this one is going to live in the box so that I always know where it is!
I am so over the moon with this set – it would make the perfect Christmas present if I was willing to give it away. Alas, I am not! I love it too much and I am so excited to lay down my upcoming blog plans within it. I need to do a massive brain dump of what new things I want to do and what I want my blog to look like with an upcoming theme change, and all of that is going to go in this journal. It is going to be my special space to plan and to create.
The above products were kindly sent to me for the purpose of this review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
