For me, there is nothing better than being contacted by a brand that I already know and love. I was so happy when I saw an email in my inbox from Pretend To Bee, asking me if I would like to review their dressing up clothes and I immediately responded saying yes please and informing them that I am already such a fan!
Pretend To Bee are a small family run business and their costumes go through rigorous testing and meet all Toy Safety Standards carrying the all-important CE mark. They use materials of only the highest quality and their costumes are designed for ease of dressing, many of which have large openings, long zips and Velcro fastenings. They are durable and made to withstand the trials and tribulations of children’s play & so represent value for money and also encourage children to expand their imagination, interact with others and Learn Through Play.
I discovered Pretend To Bee a couple of years ago when I was searching through the interweb for fancy dress costumes to get Zach for Christmas. I had looked at what was available in the major high street stores and nothing quite floated my boat. He wasn't into superheroes (at the time!), he didn't much care for pretending to be a fireman or builder and he already had a doctors outfit that was handed down to him so he didn't need that!
What he loved was rockets. He loved playing with his rockets at home and he loved watching a NASA space launch on YouTube, over and over again. This was what he was really interested in and so I started searching for dressing up costumes in this category. And that's how I came across Pretend To Bee. Because they have everything. Literally everything that you could want in dressing up for children!
When he opened his rocket and spaceman costume on Christmas morning, honestly, he was so ruddy excited and I was so happy that I had found them. He has worn them regularly ever since, usually together, and they are just awesome.
So when I saw that email, and I knew what amazing quality and fantastic products they sell, I went perusing through their online store to see what treasures I could find. I was so tempted by the Roald Dahl inspired dressing-up costumes because I am a massive fan of all of his work and with Roald Dahl Day coming up on September 13th, it would have been fitting. But, that would have been my choice and not Zach's. He is too young to know about the wonder of Dahl so I'll save that for another time!
Right now, Zach loves dinosaurs and when I discovered their dinosaur costumes which are officially licensed by the Natural History Museum, I knew I had to get him one. But what dinosaur would he like? There were three options, a T-Rex, a Stegoaurus and a Triceratops. My initial thought was a Triceratops but because I didn't want to get it wrong, I asked him the next day and he agreed with my choice!
He was so excited when it arrived and my goodness what an amazing costume. My Zach is very anti camera right now but I managed to get some sneaky shots of him. He just loves it and regularly just puts it on and roars around the house.
Or sometimes he just does a jigsaw whilst wearing it!
Of course, I couldn't leave Oscar out of the mix could I? I asked for a costume for him too and going down the same route as Zach, I got him the Baby Blue Monster Onesie. Again, it's an absolutely fabulous costume by Pretend To Bee and he just looks utterly adorable in it!
Once again, Pretend To Bee have surpassed themselves in the design and quality of these costumes. The boys love them and I love watching them wear them. They will always be my go to store for all dressing up costumes in the future.
